April & May Training Calendar
Dear Director/Provider:
One of the missions of the Partnership for Children is
to provide training opportunities for providers either to enhance
their knowledge or provide them with new information.
Throughout the last year we have implemented a yearly
training calendar so that providers could plan ahead and take
advantage of the many training opportunities available.
Our hope was that Directors and Owners would take time with
staff to review the options offered and plan for each staff member to
attend those sessions that would be most beneficial.
Some items such as CPR, First Aid and SIDS are required at
specific interval. Sadly,
advance planning has been limited and as a result, the Partnership has
had to cancel many training sessions due to low participation.
We realize that canceling sessions only hurts those who did
register in advance; and we must weigh that against our fiduciary
responsibility to be good stewards of taxpayer funds that are used to
pay for these training events.
The Partnership will charge
$5.00 for all trainings with the exception of trainings such as BSAC,
First Aid, CPR etc., which will have higher fees based upon their cost
to conduct them. If a participant fails to attend a workshop session, no refunds
will be issued. The
participant may send someone else in their place if they have an
emergency or know they will not be able to attend.
Trainings will no longer be canceled unless unexpected
circumstances arise, in which case we will try to secure another
person to implement the training.
If a class fills to capacity, we will try to secure a larger location or plan another
session.
Providers can sign up for as many trainings as they
wish as long as they pay the $5.00 registration fee for each session.
Payments may be mailed in or dropped off at the Partnership
office. Directors may register staff.
Slots will not be reserved without payment. Participants may not
pay the night of the training.
All payments must be made in advance. Registration forms are
sent out in newsletters or can be requested from the Partnership
office. If a participant
misses a training session for any reason, no reimbursements will be
issued nor will a transfer to another training session be granted.
Trainings are published in the monthly newsletter.
Yearly calendars are available at the Partnership office.
Trainings will not be planned without proper notification from
either the Division of Child Development or a request of the director.
We will not do trainings at the last moment to accommodate the
lack of planning to meet training requirements for a licensing visit.
We will continue to honor training coupons that have
already been issued.
